Baggage damage detection

Challenge

Baggage that is alleged to have been damaged in transit is a problem for airports and airlines. Due to the increasing use of self-service baggage kiosks, the condition of a piece of baggage is not known at the time of drop-off. As a result, it is also impossible to verify whether damage reported after the flight may have existed when the baggage was dropped off.

Solution

msg.BaggageChecker takes a picture of the baggage when it is dropped off at the self-service baggage kiosk. In case of a subsequent damage report, the photograph of the baggage can be called up via the baggage tag number and compared with the reported damage. In addition and upon request, AI can evaluate the photographs and can automatically detect damage.

Benefit

msg.BaggageChecker enables fully automated early detection of baggage damage. The checking of the damage reports can thus be significantly improved without requiring additional personnel.

Authorities and financial institutions (FIs) are highly aware of the challenge of detecting financial crime. Modern criminals are using increasingly more complex structures and are acting across multiple financial institutions and jurisdictions. Parties, such as FIs, FIUs , and law enforcement, operating alone encounter challenges in the identification and tracing of suspicious behavior.
